Padua

Padua, the city where I live for years despite being born in Venice, has always fascinated me, and like me it attracts more and more tourists.

Taking advantage of the proximity to historic cities such as: Venice, Verona, Vicenza and Treviso tourists also visit the numerous monuments and historic sites of Padua. The city is particularly famous among the students for the numerous university faculties in Padua.

During your stay, do not miss to visit the historic center within the old walls, for shopping in the many shops and for a visit to one of the largest squares in Europe, Prato della Valle, or every morning to the typical markets and ancient Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza delle Frutta, separated by the imposing Palazzo della Ragione.

Piazza dei Signori with its clock is on its side, while you can not miss a coffee break at the famous Caffè Pedrocchi, in front of the Palazzo del Bo. Unmissable is the Scrovegni Chapel with the beautiful paintings of Giotto, not far from the Botanical Garden with rare and precious plants. Lastly, perhaps the most important reminder: the Basilica of St. Anthony, which every year attracts many faithful from all over the world and which houses some relics of the same miraculous Saint.

Getting around in Venice

Since it is close to Padua (only 35 min by train), you can visit Veniezia well even in one / two days.
The museums, churches, palaces and monuments are many and a list would not be enough.

I recommend you not to miss: the legendary Piazza San Marco with its splendid Basilica, the islands of Murano and Burano with their colors and glasses accessible by ferry from the city, a trip to the Lido for a glimpse of the sea or the famous festival of the cinema

Euganean Hills

The Euganean Hills, with the relative baths of Abano and Montegrotto, attract for their “prehistoric” taste that their shape inspires and are ideal for long walks (or bike rides) in the woods along the Regional Park, to taste excellent wines and typical products of the hinterland. From Padua it is only 7 minutes by train: a few minutes that divide the city from this ancient and magical site, where it is a must to try at least once the care and well-being of the Baths.
